Thanks for registering
for the First Pakistani
American Youth
Conference in Washington
DC on Aug 6th.
PAKPAC Foundation would
like to thank you and
congratulate you on
recognizing the
importance of civic
engagement and better
understanding of the
various roles of our
government. We also
recognize that it takes
considerable amount of
time, resources and
effort for over 150
Conference participants
who have travelled from
their home state, states
as far as Texas and
California to be in
nation’s Capitol. We
appreciate your
commitment and pledge to
you that PAKPAC
Foundation would do its
best to make this a
rewarding and
educational experience
for you. To make this
event a success we ask
for your fullest
cooperation,
cooperation, cooperation.
Next week you will
receive another email
with feedback questions,
please take a moment to
provide us your feedback
so that we can work on
the needed improvements.
Please read below for
program for the day
(note start time now is
7:45 AM); answers
to some questions you
may have; and
instructions for the
day. Please completely
read this section, and
if you still have some
questions they will be
answered in
morning registration
session. Everyone who
can participate in the
tours and rest of the
event must be
registered. All
registered individuals
must have received an
email addressed to
them, if any member of
your family or friend
did not receive an email
than they have not
registered, and cannot
be participate in this
event, no exceptions. We
have exceeded the
capacity of this
conference and there
is no on-site
registration.
Dress Code:
Both White House and
Capitol Hill tours are
walking tours, and
expected temperature is
in 90’s with humidity,
please dress
comfortably, no formal
attire is required, wear
clothes that you would
normally wear to
school/college. No need
of formal attire.
Traditional dress (shalwar/kameez)
is acceptable. We will
be going through 3-4
security check points,
in order to expedite
security processing
please avoid any metal
items (belts, shoes),
jewelry, water bottles,
or electronic devices
that would trigger
secondary screening.

Buses:
There will be four buses
that would carry us
throughout the day,
during the White House
tour you can leave
handbags in the bus, if
you do so please make
sure you board the same
bus from White House to
Capitol Hill. No item
should be left in the
bus when disembarking at
Capitol Hill, We do
not take any
responsibility for loss
or theft, so please
avoid leaving any
valuables in bus. To
avail of provided
transportation you must
follow the provided
schedule, please do not
make your own plans or
detours.
For Individuals staying
at Marriott Keybridge
Hotel:
All day long
transportation is
provided. Buses will
take you from hotel, and
drop you back at hotel
at night.
For Individuals NOT
staying at Marriott
Keybridge Hotel:
You must arrive at the
Hotel by 7:45 AM,
all day long
transportation is
provided. After Pakistan
Embassy dinner you have
a choice to be either
picked up from the
Pakistan Embassy or
Marriott Keybridge.
Parking is available at
Marriott, however it is
recommended that you use
metro (orange and blue
lines). Hotel is a 5
minute walk from Rosslyn
Metro Station.
For Individuals NOT who
are not participating in
the White House Tour:
If you did not provide
your social security and
Date of birth details
for the White house
tour, you can
participate in all
activities
except the White House
tour, after
the morning
registration, you can
make your own morning
plan, but you must join
the group at
12 noon at
Capitol Hill Visitor
Center on 1st
Street (between
Independence and
Constitution Av). You
will be making your own
transport arrangements
to get to Capitol Hill
Visitor Center. For

White House tour
restrictions
All guests of 15 years
of age or older will be
required to present
photo identification
(example Student ID;
Drivers License; or
Passport), with
information exactly
matching the name
previously submitted for
clearance. Individuals
whose identification
does not exactly match
the name or data cleared
for entry may be denied
admittance. Groups who
arrive for a tour should
not bring handbags,
book bags, backpacks,
purses, food or
beverages, tobacco
products, personal
grooming items (i.e.
makeup, lotion, etc.),
strollers, any pointed
objects, aerosol
containers, cameras,
video of any size. There
is no place at the White
House to check a bag or
prohibited item. If it
is raining, umbrellas
are permitted. For more

month, so expect long

Code of
Conduct for Youth
Conference
Listed below is the Code
of Conduct that needs to
be followed. Please
carefully look over the
rules and follow them
strictly.
1.
Please silence all
electronic devices. This
includes cell phones,
pagers, I-pods, and all
other electronic
devices.
2.
Please stay close to
your group, group
leader, and follow the
schedule designated.
Due to the heightened
security of all the
government buildings
that we will be
visiting, it is crucial
to stay with your group
and not astray from
them.
3.
Keep an open mind and
hold any judgments.
4.
No sidebars: Our
speakers have
volunteered to come and
speak at this event;
please be respectful
during and after each
panel by listening
carefully during their
presentations and asking
questions only during
the question and answer
sessions.
5.
Participate,
participate, and
participate.
6.
English is the preferred
method of communication.
7.
There is no such thing
as a dumb question.
